In a special one-off concert, on 12th September, we will also host a 'Come and Sing Messiah' conducted by Brian Kay, and featuring Rhys Meirion, Kevin Sharp and Kate Griffiths. This is an unmissable opportunity to take part in what will be an unforgettable evening, for singers and audience alike, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the death of Handel.
November 1st is the 75th anniversary of the birth of William Mathias, and we will mark this with an evening that will celebrate his life and work.
Set in the magnificent St Asaph Cathedral, reputed to have the finest acoustic in the whole of North Wales, the North Wales International Music Festival strives to bring the finest international artists to its stage.
2009 promises to be as spectacular as ever, as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the birth of our founder, William Mathias.
The theme of anniversaries will see celebrations of Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Purcell, Mathias, Mansel Thomas and many more.
To help us to celebrate these anniversaries, we will be joined by Rebecca Evans with Ensemble Cymru to open proceedings, with performances over eight nights from Catrin Finch, Allegri String Quartet,
